Community Involvement
United Way Day of Caring
Service 1 Federal Credit Union joined the United Way for their Annual Day of Caring Event on September 9, 2011. This year’s event was a huge success. With over 800 volunteers participating at the future site of West Michigan Therapy and Mullally Park, the United Way reports this to be the Lakeshore’s largest Day of Caring ever. Our team of three, Megan Vendal, Jamie Streit, and Josh Croff, helped with cutting and installing drywall in rooms that will soon be occupied by women and children in need of a safe and secure place to stay. The turn-out was inspiring. It was great to see our community come together in such numbers to support community preservation efforts and to see the impact of just one Day of Caring.
Run for Sight
Employees of Service 1 FCU- Jen Czarnopys and Angela Barajas- participated in the 2011 Run for Sight on September 3, 2011.
2011 Bike Safety Event
Service 1 FCU and AAA Insurance held a Bike Safety Event at our Lakes Mall Branch on April 16th. We had a great turn out with 100 Astro Kids Club members receiving free helmets.
We Surpassed Our Goal- Thanks to YOU!
Service 1 Federal Credit Union staff and volunteers participated in the Annual Muskegon Walk for Diabetes on June 5, 2010. Our credit union raised over $4,300.00 and with the collaboration of five other area credit unions, over $12,000 was raised for this great cause!
A special thank you to all of you who helped us surpass our goal. We could not do it without you!
